So I've been making a lot of soap over the past few weeks -- just never got around to posting it!
First off, here are my cut Goat's Milk bars -- scented with Clothespins, a very delicate, clean fragrance.
Also, here's the shaving soap I made, using Jenny's blog post as a guide: http://lather-be-soaping.blogspot.com/2013/01/shaving-soap-then-and-now.html
I also made a Margarita-themed Salt soap bar, using Kosher salt, with a light yellow-green swirl and kosher salt, with a limey scent
Today, after getting my supplies in, I reused two half-n-half containers, one has Cucumber Mint inside, the other, one of the Bramble blends I received -- I'm calling it Dragonfruit!
And last but not least, my latest take on my lavender soap:
Thanks for checking them out, and happy soaping!
Your goat's milk soap is so pretty! Margarita inspired soap is so nice, I think that would be great when it's cold & wet, it'll take you away for at least a little while. Can't wait to see your lavender soap when it's cut.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I can't wait to cut all of the new soaps, it's always the hardest part!
DeleteYou've been busy, Ashley! All of the soaps are so pretty. Goat's milk is such a nice ingredient in soap, and I've recently discovered a love for salt bars. I can't wait to see lavender soap cut! I hope that you like the shaving soap. Thanks for the shout-out for my blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :) I try and keep myself busy with soaps in general, otherwise I get into trouble LOL! The hubby loved the shaving soap, as did our roommate, though he had a harder time getting the lather to stay visible. Still worked though!
DeleteSo pretty Ashley, the soaps are all so diverse...you've been busy! I love the way you reused those half-and-half containers!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I like trying to make all my soaps stand out. If they all have personality, it's easier for them to be recognized I guess. :) And the half and half soaps are adorable slightly-rounded squares! I'll definitely do that again.
DeleteWhat a fun busy soaping time you've been having! I really love how the goat's milk soap turned out, and I'm glad you got to try a couple of other soaping techniques out. =)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anne-Marie! :) I wanted to try reusing containers for soap since I saw you do it on your blog, and finally got around to finishing off all our half-n-half (I use it in my chicken pot pie recipe). I cut the soaps yesterday, they're very adorable slightly rounded squares! And they smell wonderful, I used the Hungarian Lavender and Pomegranate Black Tea blend I got from the photo of the week goodie package. They're incredible!
